We pass through the world surrounded by facts, yet often remain strangers to its meaning. For Louis Lavelle, this estrangement begins when life becomes a spectacle\u2014something observed, endured or managed from a distance.<\/p>\n

The Manual of Dialectical Methodology<\/em> offers a striking alternative.
